Most Sunday mornings find Roger Thrower leading worship and preaching at the New Hope Foursquare Church in Fairmont, West Virginia. On select occasions he will be ministering at another church somewhere in America or in a foreign nation. Roger loves Jesus. He sings with all his heart as he leads others into the presence of God and ministers the truth of the Word.

     During the week, Roger is a pastor, husband and family man, resting on Mondays and then participating in family and church matters with his wife Heather, daughter Emmy and son in-law Nic. The Throwers minister hope and healing to the people of God almost every day. The Throwers also meet and worship with other pastors and leaders of their denomination and with the pastors of local churches.

     Roger is also a prolific song writer, having written more than 400 songs. His library includes children’s songs, worship songs and praise songs. In his intimate time with the Lord and during unexpected moments the Spirit will often quicken the words and music of a new song. He has learned to carry a micro recorder to capture these songs instantly.

     After one hard day in the office, Roger fell into a large chair, leaned back and sang these words for the first time. “God is my Redeemer, and He heals me with reassuring love. And I love My Redeemer, overwhelming, overcoming, redeeming love.” God Is My Redeemer has been sung all around the world, bringing tears of joy and new hope to countless people. The song even was featured on the popular television program Touched By An Angel.

     As pastors, Roger and Heather have seen the New Hope Foursquare Church grow and prosper. From a small group of saints has grown a church strong in Spirit, worship and ministry, influencing many families and the community.

     By the grace of God, Roger has recorded four music albums: Family Worship and Fun, Glory to Glory, Yahweh and God Is My Redeemer. In 2004, he recorded his first radio spots. These messages of hope, combined with the instrumental music from God Is My Redeemer, are collectively called A Hope Filled Moment. A Hope Filled Moment radio spots were also arranged into a ministry version CD that features additional music and prayers.

     In 2003, Roger began making live appearances on Christian radio, reaching listeners in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. This experience, along with his pastoral ministry, put the desire on his heart to share the hope we have in Jesus Christ in spoken messages that dovetail with the themes of his music. The result is a unique blend of Biblical truth and worship in the A Hope Filled Moment recordings.

     Roger was born in Massachusetts and raised in North Carolina. He was born again at a Christian retreat in Tennessee at the age of 17, experiencing a heart melting touch of God’s love. Roger immediately began to sing and lead worship in his youth group. Over a season of time it became clear that God was calling him to full time ministry.

     Roger Thrower received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri, and attended Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California.

     During his early ministry, Roger served on staff at The Church On The Way, The First Foursquare Church of Van Nuys, in Van Nuys, California. His duties included work in the facilities department, Singles Worship Director and Youth Choir Director. He also served on staff at New Life Church in Hesperia, California, as Pastor of Worship Ministry and as a teacher in the church school.

     A pastor once confided to Roger that he had decided to remain in the ministry after listening to God Is My Redeemer. We have heard many people testify of being delivered from oppression and depression during worship at the throne of God. One man wrote, “Roger’s music takes the heart of Christ to the very core of a person. This music is changing the world one broken person at a time.”
